Ein Hod is a picturesque artists’ village, the only one of its kind in Israel and one of the few such villages in the world. Nestled in natural vegetation and bordered by an ancient olive grove, it lies on the western slopes of Mt Carmel, in a breathtaking landscape looking out toward the sea and the Crusader fortress of Atlit.The Ein Hod Artists’ Village – for lovers of art, landscape and nature, a perfect place to spend a few hours a full day or a few days.
Follow its pastoral lanes to the Janco-Dada Museum, which celebrates Marcel Janco, the village’s founder and a member of “Dada” - a pivotal movement in modern art.
In 1953 a group of progressive artists led by Marcel Janco rebuilt the village on ancient ruins. Nowadays Ein Hod is a unique and romantic retreat where painters, sculptors, ceramists, actors and many other artists form every artistic fields, live and create.
Nearby is the Artists’ Gallery, exhibiting one of the largest collections of Israeli art, from every artistic field, with a variety of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
In the village you can find a large variety of privet galleries and studios and meet
with local artists.
Also, you can visit the Nisco Museum of antique music boxes.
In the studios and Public Workshops scattered along the village roads you can meet the artists at work. In a previously arranged meeting, workshop for visitors will combine creation and study (for all ages and all levels of creative experience).
The village offers restaurants, cafe, a beer house and guesthouses (B&B).
