Lenkiewicz Work To Be Shown In London

An exhibition featuring the work of painter Robert Lenkiewicz is opening at London’s Halcyon Gallery this month.

Lenkiewicz died in August 2002 aged 60 of heart problems, and the exhibition will mark the fifth anniversary of his death.

He was born in London in 1941, the son of Jewish refugees from Germany and Poland who escaped Nazi persecution.

Freud Tops Poll of Artists Most Admired

Lucian Freud is the number one artist who other members of the UK artistic community most admire, according to a poll by The Great Art Fair.

Freud, the grandson of psychologist Sigmund Freud, was born in Berlin in 1922 and moved to the UK with his family in 1933 following the Nazi rise to power in Germany.

Bolero
If you enjoy art and have a spare £100,000 or even £8,000 or you know someone who likes to own art, then a new exhibition by former Soviet Union Jewish artist Michael Rogatchi should be on your list of things to do in December.

Described as “metaphorical expressionist paintingsâ€, the Bolero exhibition takes place at The Gallery in Cork Street in London’s Mayfair from 4 December until 16 December 2006 and will showcase more than 20 pieces from 53-year-old Rogatchi.
Geffen Sells Pollock To Raise Cash For LA Times?

Is David Geffen soon to add newspaper mogul to his list of been there, done that and got the t-shirt to prove it.

The 63-year-old king of rock who founded Geffen Records and gave the world John Lennon’s last album as well as releases by Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Cher and tons of other artists has been busy selling various works of arts which some are saying is to give him enough cash to mount a bid for ownership of the Los Angeles Times.
